sustainable and healthy outcomes. As UNESCO Chair for Growing Up in Cities at Cornell University, as principal of the Community Planning.
Collaborative and currently as Deputy Director for the Office of Planning and Community Development for the City of Seattle, USA, his work focuses on the power and importance of community engagement and the ability of everyone—regardless of age or ability—to be a constructive agent of change.
His recent work focuses on equitable development and the challenge—and promise—of sustainability. He is a graduate of Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, author of Creating Better Cities with Children and Youth and on the Strategic Planning Committee of the Carbon Neutral Cities Alliance.
